Published by Penguin Random House, Carrie Kabak's novel, COVER THE BUTTER, was an Independent Booksellers' Pick, won an Audiofile Magazine award, and was nominated for a Quills Award. Her essays appear in FOR KEEPS and HE SAID WHAT? (Seal Press), EXIT LAUGHING (North Atlantic Books), FAITH (Simon and Schuster), and DUMPED (She Writes). Set in counties Roscommon & Galway in Eire, her working novel is entitled SHIBBY MAGEE. Carrie is a regular visitor at Victoria Zackheim's UCLA Personal Essay courses where she discusses her work and shares her writing experiences.

 

Previously an editor and copywriter for Amazon publishing, Carrie continues to work as a writer and also holds the position of production designer in the Innovations and eCommerce Studio at Hallmark Cards.

Specializing in the publishing industry, Carrie was commended as an illustrator by WRITER'S DIGEST, named Artist of the Month by the Society of Children's Writers and Artists, and was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer (Da Vinci Eye) Award for superior cover design. Her clients include Bookmasters, February Partners, McAllister PR, Nancy Berland PR, Greenleaf Group LLC, Friday Project, PageWorks, Tin House, Momentum, Pan Macmillan--and CBS Studios (THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL series.) And Ali Smith Photography for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, Bloomsbury, and Harper Collins.

 

Both an Irish and British citizen, Carrie lives in Missouri with her husband, who was once an elephant handler, a chef, and is now a medical illustrator. They share five sons, two labradors,, two cockatiels, and four tanks of freshwater fish.
